Rockhampton Northern Access Upgrade Project
This $90m project entails a major duplication of 5.4km of the Bruce Highway northwards from Yeppoon Road, working under traffic, for the Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR). The project is being delivered via an SGQ McIlwain Civil joint venture.
Key scope of works:
- Full duplication of north and southbound carriageways
- Construction of two bridges across Limestone Creek (with PSC piles)
- Construction of two bridges over Ramsay Creek (with CIP piles)
- Demolition of the existing Ramsay Creek bridge
- Re-alignment of 1.1km of Boundary Road South through undeveloped land
- 1.6km of two new service roads
- Construction of three signalised intersections
- Construction of a dual lane roundabout at Stirling Drive
- New stormwater and cross drainage for the length of the project
